ALL STAR INFORMATION
All Star Director - 4/22/2013
We hope that this letter finds you enjoying a fantastic season of SVGS softball on our fabulous fields! It takes many people, donating many hours of heartfelt effort to make an organization like the Simi Valley Girls Softball league come to life each year. We recognize that without a great group of dedicated and enthusiastic players none of the efforts would be needed and what an awesome group of kids we have participating in our league!
Now that the regular season is nearing completion, the 2013 summer All-Star season is fast approaching. As such, we would like to provide some important information for those who may be considering having their daughter participate in the 2013 All Star season. It is very important that prior to accepting an All-Star position, parents are informed about the commitment that is required from both player and family to participate in the All-Star season. Participation requires an extensive time and financial commitment form the parents, as well as a tremendous amount of hard work and perseverance from the All Star players. Being selected to participate on the All-Star team is a great achievement for the players and is a fantastic opportunity to become an even more accomplished fastpitch player while having a great time with family, friends and teammates. The commitment that is required cannot be overstressed. Please carefully review the attached “What it Takes to be a SVGS All-Star” Information Sheet. If you feel that you cannot make the high level of commitment that is required or are not interested, please notify the me at the below contact email so I can plan for the upcoming All-Star season accordingly. The All-Star Commissioner will then confirm the names of those not-interested with their respective team manager.
The All-Star player selection process will begin on May 1st. Managers from each division will hold an open forum discussion on or after this date to select the All-Star teams. All-Star player discussions are “not” to be had prior to this date per A.S.A. rules. Those selected to an All-Star team (i.e., Gold, Silver, or Bronze) will be notified by the All-Start team manager no later than May 6th, 2013. Please understand that this is a competitive process to field the best teams representing SVGS and that it is possible for your daughter not to be selected for a spot on any of the All-Star teams.
